Waterford City has a great medieval history, ransacked many times including by Oliver Cromwell. One of the most important sea ports in the south east of Ireland and now still trading with the world thro a cantainer port built a little further down river. Don't miss a visit to Reginalds Tower and a stroll along the quays.
Waterford has been home to the Cutty Sark Tall ships race and festival twice.
