The original home of one of the most ancient clans of Ireland, the O'Briens of Thomond. The Castle, restored in 1960, is now used mainly as a tourist attraction with tours and very enjoyable medieval banquets, You could be chief for a night ! Don't miss the excellent folk park and then the usual pint in the yellow painted Durty Nellies pub beside the castle.
